Any big readers???? I need some help?

I am doing a school project and does anyone know of any books about like a kid going into a foster care or getting a new stepmom?? The project is about living with someone new.

(I like dramatic and suspensful books)

A child called it is about a boy dealing with EXTREME child abuse. While this one wouldn't fit exactly the sequel The Lost boy would.
Reply:The Book Theif by Markus Zusak, it's really good and it's about a German girl that gets new foster parents around the time of World War 2.
Reply:This doesn't fit the stepmom/foster parent senerio but if you like fantasy I highly recomend Poison Study by Maria Snyder.
